S.S. Milwaukee Clipper Preservation Inc.
We are a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization preserving and sharing the history of the S.S. Milwaukee Clipper, one of America’s most significant surviving passenger steamships and a National Historic Landmark. Our 501c3 is funded by tax-deductible gifts from individuals, grants, and businesses. We are governed by a board of community leaders. We took over the care of the Milwaukee Clipper in late 1997.
Our goal is to preserve, restore, and share the historic S.S. Milwaukee Clipper as a living testament to Great Lakes maritime heritage through education, restoration, public engagement, and immersive historical experiences.
The S.S. Milwaukee Clipper Preservation, Inc., a non-profit 501 (c) (3) was organized in April, 1998 with a mission for the sole purpose of restoring and preserving the steamship S.S. Milwaukee Clipper and to create an on-board Great Lakes Maritime Museum to educate and inform the public about our Great Lakes maritime heritage. The vision of the S.S. Milwaukee Clipper Preservation, Inc., is that future generations will be able to enjoy and discover this National Historic Landmark that is also on the National Register of Historic Places. Our maritime history and artifacts will be emphasized.
Our official Mission Statement is: Restore, preserve, and maintain the S.S. Milwaukee Clipper and to create an onboard Great Lakes Maritime Museum to educate and inform the public about our Great Lakes maritime heritage.
The Great Lakes Clipper Preservation Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of the S.S. Milwaukee Clipper, one of America’s most significant surviving passenger steamships and a National Historic Landmark.
As stewards of this remarkable vessel, we are committed to preserving, restoring, and sharing the historic S.S. Milwaukee Clipper as a living testament to Great Lakes maritime heritage through education, restoration, public engagement, and immersive historical experiences.
